Anthony De Mello - The Way To Love -pdf- [repack]
The foundation of De Mello’s teaching is awareness. He argues that most people are "asleep," living their lives through conditioned programming and societal expectations. To find "the way to love," one must first wake up to the reality of their own internal landscape.
That is the Way to Love. You sit by the river of life. You let people come and go. You let experiences rise and fall. You are the riverbank, not the fish. Anthony De Mello - The Way To Love -pdf-
Anthony de Mello's "The Way to Love" is a spiritual guidebook that challenges us to rethink our understanding of love. By embracing acceptance, non-judgment, and presence, we can cultivate a deeper, more meaningful love for ourselves and others. As de Mello says, "The way to love is to love. The way to love is to give. The way to love is to serve." The foundation of De Mello’s teaching is awareness

De Mello was controversial. The Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith issued a notification in 1998 criticizing some of his later works (including The Way To Love ) for perceived "silence about the revealed nature of Jesus Christ" and a tendency toward "religious indifferentism." If you are a traditional Christian, you may find his teachings challenging—he often says things like "The kingdom of heaven is not after death; it is now."
Imagine a fisherman. He wakes up in the morning. He goes to the river. He casts his line. He sits. He waits. If he is attached to catching a fish, he will suffer when the fish does not bite. He will become angry at the sun or the current. But if he is just there to be at the river, to feel the breeze, then whether the fish comes or not is irrelevant. His peace is not tied to the outcome.
