Nicole Sheridan appears as the villainous Sister Wanda, and she is clearly having the time of her life. She chews the scenery with a high-energy, over-the-top performance that provides the necessary conflict. It’s a performance that borders on a cartoon villain, which fits the tone of the movie perfectly. The male leads, typical for this genre, are largely functional—they are there to get into trouble, look confused, and eventually be rescued—but they serve their purpose as straight men to the chaos around them.
