We may never see version 1.0 of A Ghostly Desire . Sitho might abandon it, as developers do, as lovers do. And perhaps that is the final, uninstallable truth. The ghost does not want to be exorcised. The desire does not want to be satisfied. Completion would be a kind of death.
There is a recursive cruelty here. We, the player, desire to complete the game. To see the ending. To fix the ghost. But the ghost is not a problem to solve—it is a condition to inhabit. By playing an alpha, we agree to coexist with missing pieces. We become the active force in a passive haunting. Every click, every triggered dialogue option, we are the poltergeist, throwing objects around the haunted house of narrative, hoping something will land. A Ghostly Desire -v0.8 Alpha- By Sitho
