While was originally released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) in Japan in July 2012, it never received an official English release on that platform. Official English versions only began with the PlayStation Vita in 2014 and later moved to PC, PS4, and mobile.
The game takes place in a fictional academy called Hope's Peak, where a group of students, known as "Ultimates," are brought together to participate in a twisted game designed by a sadistic bear robot named Monokuma. The gameplay involves exploration, investigation, and trial sequences, where players must interact with other characters, gather clues, and debate to uncover the truth behind the tragic events unfolding at the academy.
