The film tackles a modern concern: the radiation from mobile phones killing birds. Akshay Kumar plays Dr. Richard, a ornithologist who is wronged by the mobile tower industry. After his death, his spirit manifests as a swarm of mutated, angry birds (using incredible CGI) that start sucking the mobile phones out of people's throats. To stop him, Dr. Vaseegaran (Rajinikanth) re-activates the destructive robot, Chitti.
