In 1998, Sega released Phantasy Star Collection for the Sega Saturn in Japan. For fans of the classic 8-bit and 16-bit RPGs, it was the ultimate tribute. Unlike the later Game Boy Advance compilation which suffered from technical limitations, the Saturn version was a port built on the robust Sega Ages framework.
